The filter 9/FLUN-7, which corresponds to filter class F7 and is classified as ePM1 55% in accordance with ISO 16890, is specially developed for use in our central unit, the LUNOMAT. ePM1 55% means that 55% of all particles larger than 1 micrometre are filtered out of the airflow under test conditions. The F7 filters are clearly superior to standard filters in terms of filter performance and are particularly suitable for allergy sufferers and similar people. This filter, also known as a pocket filter, consists of a very fine filter fleece and is able to filter the smallest particles from the air. It therefore fulfils the requirements for air filtration in accordance with VDI 6022.
As the filter cannot be cleaned, LUNOS recommends checking the filter manually at least twice a year - ideally even four times - in addition to any automatic filter change indicator, in order to avoid unhygienic conditions. For reasons of hygiene, the filter should be replaced after three years at the latest, even if there is no visible soiling. Used filters can simply be disposed of with household waste and do not need to be treated as hazardous waste.
It should be noted that these ultra-fine filters become dirty more quickly than standard filters, as they filter out and store considerably more particles from the air flow. It may therefore be necessary to replace the filter after just a few weeks if there is a lot of pollen or in regions with high levels of air pollution. The filters are available in a double pack (2 pieces) directly from the webshop.
Filter change
A dirty filter is signalled by the filter change indicator. To change the filter, remove the inner screen, loosen the filter cover and remove both filters from their holders. Insert two new filters, observing the flow direction marked on the filters. Then replace the filter cover and reset the filter change indicator using the corresponding button until the LED under the button goes out.
