5/WM: WLAN module

Future-proof via browser without app

Discover the latest innovation from LUNOS. With the 5/WM, you now have the freedom to control the ventilation system wirelessly from a distance, with a range of up to 100 metres in open areas. This WLAN module was specially developed for the Silvento ec exhaust air unit and sets a new standard in user-friendliness and efficiency.

Simple connection and operation

The WLAN module enables connection to a mobile device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, laptop with Android or iOS) without additional software installation and can therefore be used immediately. To connect, it generates its own WLAN, which transmits bidirectionally at 868 MHz, and the entire operation takes place via a web browser. QR codes facilitate the connection and access to the user interface.

Comprehensive device analysis

The WLAN module can be used to read out log data from the ventilation unit, including running times, moving volume flow, filter changes, operating time and current system statuses. This data can be read out both in real time and selectively when required. This enables detailed analysis and monitoring of the ventilation unit at any time for early detection of faults.

Simple installation

The WLAN module can be easily installed by plugging it directly onto the existing control board. This uncomplicated installation requires no additional cabling, as the module draws its power supply directly from the control board. This greatly simplifies and speeds up the installation process, making it accessible even to less experienced users.

WLAN vs. NFC: The right technology for individual needs

Choosing the right communication technology is crucial for the user-friendliness and efficiency of the system. While NFC (Near Field Communication) has recently gained in popularity, WLAN offers considerable advantages in comparison:

  • Range: NFC only allows very short distances (a few centimetres). Our 5/WM, on the other hand, offers a range of up to 100 metres. This gives you the freedom to control the device anywhere in the house without having to constantly go near the device.
  • Ease of use: NFC requires active interaction where the device must be physically held up to the NFC-enabled module. With the WLAN module, the ventilation system can be conveniently controlled from anywhere without having to worry about positioning.
  • Real-time data: WLAN enables a continuous connection and data transfer in real time. This is particularly important for monitoring and adjusting ventilation settings. With NFC, the data would have to be retrieved manually, which is time-consuming and impractical.
  • Scalability and integration: WLAN modules are easier to integrate into existing systems and can be easily updated, while NFC is usually limited to specific applications.
  • Can be operated without an app: Without NFC, no app is required that needs to be downloaded or constantly updated. You can simply get started straight away via a web application - without an internet connection. Continuous further development of the app and customisation to new systems are therefore no problem with LUNOS. As a result, we can guarantee that this service will continue to be available in the best quality in the distant future.

This WLAN module therefore combines all the advantages you need: A long range, ease of use and full access to real-time data without the limitations and disadvantages associated with NFC technology. The proven RF technology from LUNOS, which transmits bidirectionally at 868 MHz, has been used reliably for years in heating thermostats and other applications.

Modular retrofittable

The WLAN module is an accessory that you do not have to decide in favour of when purchasing the ventilation system, as is the case with conventional fans with NFC function. The module can only be purchased when it is actually needed. Another advantage is that craft and service staff only need one WLAN module, which they can use with all Silvento devices as required.
